TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER WHAT?
Technology Transfer is a set of support services that cover the process of innovation and commercialization of innovative products that result from scientific research conducted at universities. Istanbul TTM and ITF TTO help in the process of transforming ideas and suggestions from idea to implementation and commercializing them, turning them into the benefit of society, national economy, university and researchers.
ABOUT US
Within the scope of technology transfer and university-industry cooperation in Istanbul Medical Faculty, Istanbul Medical Faculty-TTO (ITF-TTO) was launched in 2013 within the body of Istanbul University-TTM. In order to encourage the establishment of new ones, it was among the 10 universities that were worthy of support under the 2013 1513 Technology Transfer Offices (TTO) Support Program. Within the scope of this project, ITF-TTO was established considering the information potential of Istanbul Medical Faculty.
OUR GOAL
To be an effective interface to ensure the transformation of scientific and technological knowledge within the Istanbul Medical Faculty into social benefit, economic value and university-industry cooperation in the field of health.

RESEARCH
Being one of the leading research institutions in our country and in the world by increasing its effectiveness in the research and being a research-oriented faculty are among the strategic priorities of Istanbul Medical Faculty. It aims to encourage researchers working in research centers and laboratories within the Istanbul Medical Faculty to produce qualified publications and new research projects, to support R & D, innovation and excellence centers, and to support large-scale, strategically important, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary researches and to develop capacity in research areas that can create international impact. . In line with this strategic priority of the Istanbul Medical Faculty, TTO is structuring to activate research projects activities and support services provided to researchers.
Academics and researchers benefit from the opportunities offered by TTO as follows:
• Academicians and researchers apply to ITF-TTO with the project proposal.
• ITF-TTO directs the project to Istanbul TTM.
• Istanbul TTM supports project writing, needs identification, support and liaison with related companies.
• Provides project preparation and writing support in case of application to İstanbul TTM support programs. Supports project management after positive applications.
• Academicians and researchers determine the content and conditions of the project with the relevant company, the confidentiality agreement is signed and the project design phase begins.
COMMERCIALIZATION
The conversion of an invention that incorporates an innovative idea or competitive method into a product of commercial value, ie the commercialization of technology, is a complex and long-term process involving many steps. From this invention to commercialization, ITF-TTO is supported by Istanbul TTM.
Istanbul University has a structure that supports academicians and researchers during application and management of R & D projects. There are units that support the development of university-industry cooperation, technology transfer, innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, meeting innovative ideas with investors, commercialization and developing internationally competitive products. The task of TTO and TTM is to coordinate the activities of various units within the University by coordinating them with the faculty.
Under the leadership of Istanbul TTM, İTF-TTO will act together with the researchers and initiate the evaluation and protection process from the birth of the idea, assisting the inventor in the consultancy, correct orientation and utilization of other supports during the transition from idea to product.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The institutions in which information is produced and disseminated play an important role in the formation of an innovation culture. Under the leadership of Istanbul TTM, ITF-TTO aims to:
It is aimed that the students will receive education structured with perspectives that support innovation and inventiveness in mind-based, science-based and open to questioning environments. Widespread processing of entrepreneurship will contribute to the spread of innovation culture. Entrepreneurship courses are aimed at students in the Faculty of Medicine. It will be emphasized that the students will form companies with joint projects. With these courses, it is aimed to encourage faculty students to produce new ideas, to realize their ideas and to support entrepreneurship based on technology and innovation.
Consultancy services to researchers and entrepreneurs include:
• business idea development
• marketing the idea and meeting the right investor
• training for entrepreneurs to find capital and start a business
• informing entrepreneurs about support funds
Under the leadership of Istanbul TTM, ITF-TTO will support projects with high potential for commercialization by examining the projects and discoveries in the theses of postgraduate and specialist students from the faculty and researchers of Istanbul Medical Faculty. Practical trainings on innovative and entrepreneurship within the scope of Istanbul TTM and ITF-TTO activities will be given and seminars and successful examples will be shared with the participants.
